Read for the 2011 666 reading challenge for China
Kind of a weird book, I don't really know what to think about it yet. A writer, himself a character of the book, meets with his friend the professional blood donor and talks about a novel he writes about lots of different characters, all more or less related to one another, which he observes on the streets. The absurdities of communist China are well depicted. The blurb on the cover compares the book with Kundera's work, and indeed there are some similarities, with the book of laughter and forgetting for example.
Although I usaually do like black humor, I didn't find the story funny most of the time, but perhaps that's just me...

Released at the BC-Letz meeting.
Happy Reading!

I started to read this book, but I just couldn't get into it. So after some 30 pages I gave up. I found the writing style rather depressing and not funny at all.
