Great story line with fantastic very stereotyped characters. Read through this one very fast since I couldn't put it down. This one will be going to my sister who can then choose to pass it on if she wishes.

Journal Entry 6 by illinicheme from Novato, California USA on Sunday, January 18, 2004
This book was much better than average for the chick-lit genre. There are a few gripes, namely: why can't authors simply rely on their physical description of characters' body types, rather than backing up "perfect body" and "gangly" with ridiculous height and weight numbers? Maggie (supposedly 5'6", 106 lbs) would be on anybody's watch list as a "very high" risk for anorexia with a BMI of 17.1. And Amy? At supposedly 6', 110 lbs and a BMI of 14.9? Probably dead.

But other than that, I really enjoyed the book. Despite being very stereotyped, these characters felt much more real and far less stupid and self-centered than most in the chick-lit genre.

Thank you narfinmafic for sharing! The book will be on its way to jenvince on Monday morning.

I loved this book! The author's style of writing is great - sarcastic, witty. Thoroughly enjoyed reading this. Want to read her other book.

2/12/04 Put this book in the mail to meshe. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

Journal Entry 9 by meshe from Bonaire, Georgia USA on Saturday, February 14, 2004
Received in today's mail. Have one book ahead of it, but it's a short one.

Journal Entry 10 by meshe from Bonaire, Georgia USA on Sunday, February 22, 2004
I enjoyed reading this book. I liked that it was told from various character points of view. That technique always makes a book more interesting to me. The story kept my interest, the only negative for me was the ending. I think I'll put this author's first book on my wish list.

Journal Entry 13 by LOGOphelia on Sunday, March 14, 2004

I really enjoyed this one, even more so than "Good in Bed," Weiner's first novel. It was very well-written and had some great lines. I will be sending this on to sarajenni this week.

Journal Entry 14 by sarajenni from Burlington, Vermont USA on Wednesday, April 7, 2004
This book was pretty much what I thought it was going to be. Light, entertaining at the time, but fairly forgettable. I thought the falling action was very long after the main crisis, but the end felt a little lopped off and maybe too neat. Anyway, I wanted to try a book by this author. They are making a movie of this I'm told.
This ring is going back home now. I'm going to send a PM to narfinmagic now.

Journal Entry 16 by SeeWest from Kansas City, Missouri USA on Sunday, May 9, 2004
This is number two on my mount TBR. It shouldn't be more than a couple of weeks before I get it on its way to reader1212.

Journal Entry 17 by SeeWest from Kansas City, Missouri USA on Friday, May 28, 2004
Chic lit is a new genre for me and I liked this well enough to read the author's first book. However, I thought it was a little disturbing that both of these women had deep-seated issues that were resolved with little self examination and I don't think that happens much in the real world. I'll put this in the mail on Tuesday for reader1212.

Journal Entry 18 by narfinmagic from Freehold, New Jersey USA on Sunday, August 15, 2004
It looks like this Book Ring has come to a premature conclusion. I have had several bookrings make it back home and it looks like this will not be one of them. (It's actually my first lost ring.)

Seewest mailed it to reader1212 almost three months ago, and there has been no further journal entries. I don't know if reader1212 ever received it, because s/he has not responded to my PM's asking about it. (Hope all is well with reader1212).

I'm sorry this book won't get back to me, but mostly I'm sorry that the others on the ring won't be able to read it. Perhaps it will turn up again soon.
