Looks too good to resist, especially for $1.50.
I very much enjoyed this page-turning history, but had a few problems with how Swanson gave us some of the information. Several times Swanson spoke for Booth in situations where he could not possibly know what Booth was thinking. It's possible that Herold had been told those things by Booth or, in two instances, that Asia Booth would have known how her brother would react in that situation, and Swanson had gotten the information from them, but he never indicated any source in the notes. It's also quite possible that he made an educated guess about those situations, but if so he didn't tell the reader that it was his supposition. Instead, it was written as if Booth had said it.
Those instances aside, this was a fascinating and well written book.

Picked up by Judygreeneyes at today's meetup. Enjoy!
I'm looking forward to reading this. I may even get my husband to read it too!
This was a good read -- very comprehensive and yet accessible. I also really liked the interview with the author and the timeline in the back of the book. I don't think I ever knew that there were so many other people involved in the murder and in Booth's escape.
Released to a friend at Congregation Dor Hadash. Enjoy!
