Momo (Puffin Books)

This was one of my favourite books when I was a child. I have vivid memories of reading it, seeing the play and watching the film. It is a very positive but also scary book and sometimes I wonder today whether these grey men who stole time do not actually exist. I especially remember the story of Beppo, the sweeper, one sweep at a time. I have chosen this book for an international roundabout and I hope the readers like it and that most of them have not yet read it.
Before I send it out to the next reader I will however read it again and see whether I still like it the way I used to.

This book is eager to travel. I have not read it again but will probably pick up the German version soon.
Book received! Many thanks, look forwarding to reading this soon :)
It is with regret that I was not able to get very far into this book for a number of reasons but I did enjoy that which I had read to an extent. I hope maybe I can pick up where I left off at some later point. My apologies and I hope that this special book will be done justice by the next reader.
my turn
Never ending story was one of my children's favourite videos and I never realised there was a book to go with it. By the same author this is a fable for a bus journey to while away the time.
Some observations on humanity thread through the book raising it above a basic children's book.

Very pleased to be able to read this book! I vaguely remember having to read it for german class, but my german wasn't good enough to understand anything of it! I'm looking forward to it.
This was an absolute treat to read. If I'd read this book as a child, it would probably become one of those books I'd take out of the library over and over again.

On its way to lemon-crisis.
Arrived today, thanks! Looks interesting. I've never read anything by this author before (I only vaguely remember watching The Neverending Story on TV), so I hope I like it!
Well, to be perfectly honest I didn't really expect to like this book much, but I'm happy to say I quite enjoyed it! It took me a chapter or two to get into it, but then I ended up finishing it in an afternoon.
As marsala said, if I had discovered this as a child it most likely would have become a favourite - so thanks for sharing it LiniP =]
Will be posted along tomorrow!

A new author to me. I will read this with interest.
I can see why this was a favourite book of yours. A delightful story and a delightful main character. It was different to anything I would normally choose but that's the beauty of bookcrossing.
Thank you for introducing me to this author. I will be sure to read some of their books to my grandsons.

Posting on.
This arrived at the weekend. Another book I haven't heard of.
I must admit when I started this I wasn't sure I was going to enjoy it. However that soon changed. I also agree with LiniP that it is a little scary. The point when they were talking about parents not having enough time to spend with their children and buying them expensive toys they didn't want/need which ended up making them demand more and more, really rung true to modern life. I actually had to check when this book was written and was surprised it was 1973. The boy that was given a transistor radio to keep him company could be replaced today with play stations/computers/iphones... when all the child wants is their parent to spend a little time with them.
Another excellent choice for the favourites roundabout.

I really enjoyed this book. It is such a charming story and the main character is such a peaceful, calming soul.

Received today, thanks!
A delightful book! I think I'll re-read it with my son when he's old enough. (He's 2.5 years old now.)
The roundabout continues and dutch-book is next. Enjoy!
Arrived today! Have read The neverending story, but don't remember much about it. This one looks like fun and makes me think of Neil Gaiman.
Better than expected! I've read The never-ending story and didn't really like that one, so had some reservations against this one. But, it turned out so much better than expected. I especially liked the little stories within this book (Guido's stories) and the rich imagination from the children. It's a shame that that was only in the first part of the book, but can also understand why it was written this way. Also can see the social commentary and can agree with that. It was also a quick read and that's also something that's good once in a while.
Traveling to Boekentrol.

This book arrived safely in my mailbox today.
It will be read soon and I'll figure out, if there's still a participant in the ring that hasn't read it.

I liked this book :-)
Never thought I would, because for some reason I'm not into fairy tales or average childrens books anymore. This was an unexpected nice read.
I loved the stories, the imagination of the group of children and I liked the social comments that were made throughout the story as well.
Thank you very much for sharing!
It seems this book has travelled to all participants in the ring and it is at its end with me now.
I've already sent LiniP a PM about what to do with the book.
