Miss Hickory is a doll with a hickory nut for a head. When she finds out that her house will not be moved indoors for the winter, her whole life changes.
She learns about her neighbors and herself as she discovers the wonders of winter in the outdoors. I thought it was a fun read, but my opinion is probably enhanced by the fact that I've only encountered many of the plants & animals from the story in photos & books rather than in real life.
Lithographs by Ruth Gannett.
