From the back cover:
" In 1960's Nigeria, a country, blighted by civil war, three lives intersect. Ugwu, a boy from a poor village, works as a house boy for a university lecturer. Olanna, a young woman, has abandoned her life of privilege in Lagos to live with her charismatic new lover, the professor. The third is Richard, a shy Englishman in thrall to Olanna's enigmatic twin sister. When the shocking horror of the war engulfs them, their loyalties are severely tested as they are pulled apart and thrown together in ways none of them imagined."

This was a topic that I hadn't read about before, the book expertly portrays the human side of civil war in Nigeria. But also the complexity of relationships. I liked the way the stories of the three main characters unfolded.

Received with thanks!
I'm so glad I finally got around to reading this. Just as excellent as everything else by Adichie I've read. She's a master storyteller, and I learned a great deal about Nigeria and the Biafran War. Thank you for sharing, Dancesports!
