Herman Lindqvist is a historian. He has made many interesting programs for television about history. This book is about his years in Japan as a reporter for the Swedish Radio in the early 80's.

Some stories made me laugh out loud -some did not. I wonder how much the life in Japan has changed during the last 20 years.

got this from annelis at a bc-meeting tonight. i've been reading scientific texts in swedish this week and have been delighted i still can. now it'll be fun to read something a bit more entertaining!

an interesting read. there were (and are) a lot of things i didn't know about japan and the japanese. i treat my newly acquired knowledge with certain reservations, however, because like annelis, i can't help but wonder how much of this actually applies today.

on a more personal note, i was delighted to realise my swedish hasn't abandoned me completely, even though it's constantly forced to fight for space in the part of my brain that contains the less frequently used languages.

my mum asked to be given this book next, so it'll take a little detour before (finally) being set free again.

Löysin kirjan Tampereelta Hotelli Tammerin kirjastohuoneesta marraskuussa 2016. Tänään 15.4.2017 nappaan sen mukaani Tokion koneeseen... mihin se jää. // I found the book from Tampere (Finland), at Hotel Tammer 's library.
