If I had not joined the German 1.000-books to be read challenge I would probably not have read this books. It depicts the social and political situation in Italy after the unification in 1860/61 by describing the life of the noble family Salina. I enjoyed reading the book. It will travel with the next 1.000-books-box which comes my way.
