Following her divorce, Elizabeth experienced a crushing depression resulting in panic, confusion, and weight loss. This is the story of her travels and explorations of three different cultures, in an effort to find balance in her life. Elizabeth travels to Italy, India, and Indonesia.
This was an entertaining read and staying true to the setting of this novel, this book needs to travel!

I really enjoyed this book, it was easy to read and I loved the short chapters. I struggled a bit with the India part. Lots of things to learn about life with this book, however, humans aren't particularly good at learning from others mistakes!
I originally thought this was a ring, but have found out now it isn't, so wlll get it moving again fairly soon to someone who might enjoy it.
Oh, apparently it is a ring/ray, just no mention of it in the books jounal. In case anyone else gets confused, this is the order:-
jax987654321-UK (completed)
elpis-Greece (completed)
laure69-France (on its way here)
sedna5213-Germany
silvia-pco-Portugal

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:
sent off to the next ring/ray participant yesterday. Enjoy
arrived today. thank you jax987654321 and CityofLakesGirl. i ''ll start reading it asap!
i had wrong expectation for this book. yes i know it's the story of the heroine's life and she travels to find herself but i expected to describe a bit more the lifestyle and culture of the 3 counties she visits. but you would say it is not a travel book....
it a nice book proper for a summer reading.

sent to Laure this morning.
I've just received it. Thank you.
I like how she described Italy. It's obvious she loved this country. Unfortunately she didn't see anything in India and so neither did the reader. The part about the balinese culture is very interesting. I'm not sure I could live there.
I won't say it wasn't a good thing for her to do but I found all this self examination perfectly boring from outside.
The point is is it really necessary to go so far away to find some balance ? What good does all this do to readers who can't afford leaving their home let alone their country ?
The book left for Sedna two hours ago.

The book arrived today. Thanks a lot for sending it laure69! Looking forward to reading it!
The book was an easy read, although I found the Indian part rather boring.

The book is on its way to the next reader!
Here it is! So curious to read this, the movie was awesome. Thanks for sharing this, I'll keep you posted.
Wow, I had no idea I hadn't made my JE on this one! I finished reading it quite a while ago.
This was a great read. I was actually having low expectations about it when I started reading it, just because I friend of mine had read it before me and couldn't get herself to finish. So I was very pleased when I realized how pleasant this book is.
My favorite chapter was the one set in Italy. I just loved every description and it really made me want to go there sometime - just the food seems to be worth the trip :)
However, the book does have a few downsides. I share the opinion of other readers that didn't much like the amount of "self-examination" the author describes. I do realize this is the story of a personal journey, but it would be great if the author had balanced things a bit by adding more information of the countries she visited.
All in all, this was a great read and, as far as I can recall, the movie was very true to the book.
I had a look on the forums and found this Bring thread; lamelemon asked to join the list after me, and after contacting the host, the book's on its way to her as of today. I hope you'll enjoy it!

Thank you so much silvia-pco for looking up the original thread and mailing this book to me :) It safely arrived this afternoon.
I've been wishing for this book for quite a long time, it was a very popular choice here in Romania a few years ago, (and a most suitable birthday present!) but somehow I never got the chance to read it elsewhere. I'm looking forward to reading it as soon as time and Mt. TBR allow :)

We all need a dose of chicklit from time to time, and this was a nice holiday read. I especially liked the Indonesian part of the adventure, even so, with all its syrup. Italy and India seemed to be missing their spine, but I did steal some enjoyment out of them, too.
Mailed to chawoso in Germany, who chose it from greenbadger's Alphabet VBB, round 5. Happy Reading!
Just arrived after its long trip from Romania.
Thank you, lamelemon!
Februar 2014:
