Journal Entry 1 by bookfrogster from Edinburgh, Scotland United Kingdom on Friday, December 17, 2010
A new Sherlock Holmes mystery, this had replicated the tone of Conan Doyle's work well. Fun to read something set in Holyrood which is not far from where I live. Will release soon.

Released 13 yrs ago (12/18/2010 UTC) at Always Sunday cafe, High St (Royal Mile) in Edinburgh, Scotland United Kingdom
WILD RELEASE NOTES:
Set free on the bookcrossing shelf downstairs. Happy reading!
Aww I wasn't going to pick up any more books whilst releasing at Always Sunday today. But look what happened!
The characterisation was good with Holmes and Watson, but I found the plot a bit silly - particularly the supernatural bits. So I enjoyed this, but it was no match for the real thing I'm afraid.
And is the afterward necessary? Why would I want to know how well Holmes would pair up with a fictional detective I've never heard of before? It came across as a blatant ploy for Caleb Carr to sell some more books.

Picked up at Meet Up last night, thanks !
Fast paced ''new'' Sherlock Holmes adventure set in Edinburgh. Loved the historical setting but the mystery itself was not quite up to the usual Sherlock Holmes standards. Nonetheless, a good enough book to have read.
