Frankenstein
4 journalers for this copy...
I bought this brand new copy from one of my favorite bookstores in Bucharest. I am keen to read when possible. Although I'm not mad about horror novel, this prestigious novel really caught my eye. And from reviews I've read it seems to also pertain to romantic and sci-fi genres, so I'll certainly try it soon :)

This is more than a thriller, Gothic or horror novel. With powerful romantic influences, it depicts the struggle of the Creator confronted with the created being, which fails to meet his Master's standards and is an outcast to the world. Shelley recreates the universe of Paradise Lost by playing it at a different scale, that of a human playing God, and the consequences this renders. Every action, every state, every scene is of pure intensity. Although the monster's self-education is even more unbelievable than his mere existence, one gets easily drawn into the story and, as in every sci-fi universe, everything seems normal and every act is justified.
* reserved for (and soon to be mailed to) LiniP - I do hope you'll enjoy this wonderful 1001-book and I'm looking forward to hearing your opinion :) *

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:

Thanks for this book, lamelemon, and your lovely postcard. I am now even more eager to read the book but there are a few books ahead to be read first.
Will be read and sent to elstaplador.
What an amazing story. I am surprised that I only now discovered this book even though I had, of course, heard about it before. The question that remains for me is who was the actual monster?
