One of the 2011 Canada Reads contenders - the first graphic novel to be selected for the contest.

This was only the third graphic novel I'd read in my life time (I don't count all the Archie and Richie Rich comics I snuck from my brother's room as a kid). I freely admit until recently I have been a snob about it, thinking that you can't count "comics" as literature. But I loved this book. I am just learning how to"read" a graphic novel and how to read pictures but my education through this book was pure pleasure. I'm thrilled for Jeff Lemire that his book gave all the other contenders on Canada Reads a real run for their money.

I'll be releasing this book to the Winnipeg Thin Air book sale. So unlike my usual wild releases that are free you're going to have to pay to get this one out of hock. Trust me though it's a win win situation!

At the Thin Air used book sale. A little reverse shoplifting, if you know what I mean. Have no fear, I bought as good as I dropped Enjoy!
