Thanks so much frutz! This was a lovely surprise on this cold January morning, as I must admit it had slipped my mind. I'm on my first 1001 book of 2011 at the moment, this should be my next 1001 read.

Early on this book almost lost me, but having read The Sea I wasn't ready to give up on such a good author. I have to say it wasn't long before I became engrossed, but be aware this is not a standard crime novel. This is far more about the internal working of Freddie's mind, this is after all his book of evidence, whether true of not is probably another story. Best to read slowly and savour the flow of the writing.
