I caught this book this afternoon at Travis Park. I happened to get the release alert and live not too far from the park so it was still there when I went looking for it. Thanks First Noel!

2004 Book #39 Promise Forever by Marta Perry

If you like Harlequin romances, you'll like this one. If you don't mind devout christian main characters that often internally pray, this book is for you. There is a couple of pages spent specifically on a conversation involving religion.

Honestly I didn't know this was the type of the book it was, but it wasn't a problem with me. Although of course now that I see that it's a "Love Inspired" type of romance novel it makes sense. Now I know that's the type of novels that series is, like "Harlequin." I'm assuming this series is targetted towards conservative/devout christians so if you want a romance novel with people getting their clothes ripped off and having hot and heavy sex at least once prior to marriage, this book is not for you.

Otherwise the story was a sweet one with a woman who was briefly married to a man not of her social class divorces him and while the proceedings are going through she finds out she's pregnant from their brief marriage. She chooses to not tell her soon to be ex-husband and this book is mainly about what happens when someone anonymously mails him pictures of his now 8 or so year old boy.

From the back of the book:
" 'Your son.' Two words had never held such power over CEO Tyler Winchester. He wouldn't have believed them, but the child in the photo he stared at resembled someone he'd never forget: Miranda Caldwell, the woman who had stolen his heart eight years before. The two of them had fallen crazy in love, but their runaway marriage had unraveled as quickly as it had started.

Seeing Miranda again after all that time brought back feelings Tyler had long since abandoned- feelings of love, and forever. But family, serenity and the faith she embraced weren't high on his life's to-do list. And Tyler had thought nothing could change that... until Miranda looked into his eyes once again, and little Sammy called him 'Daddy.' "
