A cute story of an old-time Christmas.
Furthermore, the info package in the end of the booklet was educational.

"I know you'll be disappointed, but I don't see that we can make a gingerbread house after all. With your Uncle Gard's friend coming and your grandmother wanting everything special for her, there's a tremendous lot of cooking to be done. There's just no time for a gingerbread house this year."

A nice old-fashioned story, I liked the illustrations.
Actually, the educational part (6 pages at the end of the book) seemed more interesting to me than the story itself. I have to admit that I had forgotten how Boxing Day had got its name.
With this book, I will be taking part in the Finnish reading challenge called Helmet for this year. Not many days left!
