Lifeblood and Bloodcircle finds Jack hunting for the men who killed him, and for his long-lost love, Maureen.
Vampire-noir: sort of a Sam Spade in vampire form.

First 3 novels in the Fleming PI series.

These take place primarily in 30's Chicago and deal with newly reborn vampire Jack Fleming. The first concerns how he became a vampire and who murdered him. The second one finds Jack searching for his old lover, Maureen; and the third he finally finds out what happened to her.

This series definitely built up steam - the first was so-so, the second a little better, the third really kept my interest up.
