Journal Entry 1 by RDOwens from Millville, New Jersey USA on Monday, November 15, 2010
I forget how I was actually turned onto this book. I am rather certain my first copy was purchased in Cape May in the late 1980s. It's possible it was in 1991, but I don't think so. Anyhow, interestingly, after I read the book, I wrote my name and date inside the front cover. I then gave the book to a buddy of mine with the instructions to sign the cover and pass it on after it was read. I hope that book is still traveling today. Why I did that, I do not know. I don't recall having heard of that before. Perhaps years before BookCrossing was formed, I was doing it. Ha! Anyhow, at some point, I went out and purchased another copy of this. It was definitely prior to 1998 while I was still in my liberal stage. :) Even so, this is a good speech. History questions the authenticity of it. I am sure, like most things, there are grains of truth to it. Who knows? It does highlight different perspectives, which is interesting. I attempt to present how the Lenni-Lenape's world view was different from the settlers. Owning land is a foreign concept to them. Chief Seattle thought similarly. It's an interesting read and worth the effort. Anyhow, I've known for some time that this book would be the very first I release as a BookCrosser.

Journal Entry 2 by RDOwens at Maurice River Walk in Millville, New Jersey USA on Friday, December 31, 2010
Released 1 yr ago (12/31/2010 UTC) at Maurice River Walk in Millville, New Jersey USA WILD RELEASE NOTES:

The Maurice is beautiful this morning. There's still snow on the ground, yet it is so peaceful. I enjoy this area. Along the walk are several benches to sit on and take in the scenery. About halfway down this book was left. It is in a Ziplock bag and has several BookCrossing stickers (including an orange Post-It) to identify it. Thus begins my BookCrossing adventures . . .
