In 1960s Santa Teresa, California, a child is kidnapped and never returned.
Twenty years later, Michael Sutton contacts private detective Kinsey Millhone for help. He claims to have recalled a strange and disturbing memory which just might provide the key to the mystery. He believes he stumbled across the kidnappers burying Mary Claire Fitzhugh's body.

WOW! I got the nicest surprise package in the mail today-and I mean a real surprise since my birthday is just under a month away. But whose complaining? I can celebrate early! My husband and I are both reading and enjoying the Kinsey Millhone series and this is the only book out that we didn't already have. It may take us awhile to get to it, but I'm sure we will enjoy it when we do. Also included in the package is some lovely stationery, a Christmas Cross-stitch kit and a chocolate reindeer-yummmm.
