i found this book so interesting because the main character was so basically unlikeable. to follow along with someone i disliked so hugely was either a testament to the excellence of ian mcewan's writing, or the hideously compelling pull of an accident site (i know which answer i'm leaning towards, but that could just be to make me feel better about myself!) i wasn't particularly interested in the climate change stuff, which seemed more like the backdrop that the human drama was being played against, but i suspect that was the point - that fully comprehend the magnitude of the global issue is to be unable to engage in anything else. a really interesting read, about a thoroughly dishonourable person!

this book is just passing through - I greedily selected too many of cosminx's books so am parting with this one.

Couldn't get into this - I found it at a meetup some months ago, and I'm releasing it tomorrow.
