"Late one night, exploring her father's library, a young woman finds an ancient book and a cache of yellowing letters addressed ominously to 'My dear and unfortunate successor'. Her discovery plunges her into a world she never dreamed of - a labyrinth where the secrets of her father's past and her mother's mysterious fate connect to an evil hidden in the depths of history."
I read The Historian a few years back and I absolutely loved it. It has a great atmosphere, dark and mysterious, and I made sure I read it in the right ambient: late at night with only the bedside lamp on. I loved how the plot extended through several generations and countries, but I have to admit that at some point it lost its rhythm. Still a great read.

WILD RELEASE NOTES:
I was walking around the old town looking for an area with tourists, but I couldn't find anyone so I gave up and left the book on one of the benches that overlook the sea, behind the Fortezza. Hopefully the book will find its way to someone who will be able to read it.
