I found this slim paperback at the Book Cellar, and the mystery-told-in-poems concept reminded me of the bizarre-but-enjoyable Send Bygraves by Martha Grimes. While I doubt that this book will live up to that one, I figured it was worth a try - and, at the price, I got two copies!

Not bad, though rather bleak, and clearly meant to inspire discussion. The viewpoints range from the school principal to various teachers and, of course, several students, some of whom have very dark back-stories indeed. Secrets are revealed, differing viewpoints are given of the victim - and many hints are dropped. Will the reader be able to figure out who did the crime and why?

Book Description: When popular Tower High English teacher Mr. Chippendale is fatally shot, everyone's a suspect. The killer could be anyone? one of his students, a colleague, or even an ex-flame. Told in a series of interlocking poems, this suspenseful story will keep readers guessing who the killer is right up until the last page.

My Review: This was an interesting book. Telling a story through poems from different characters point of view is really different idea.

Saved for a bookbox.
