Amanda's Wedding: A Novel

In my TBR pile. Got at the Dollar Tree for $1. From the Publisher:
Amanda is the kind of girl you love to hate: rich, thin, blonde, and vicious enough to be Satan's own PR agent. Melanie and Fran, Amanda's charming, wisecracking old school friends, simply can't believe it when Amanda manages to get herself engaged to kind, decent Fraser-Mel's old crush, and minor royalty, no less. Determined to save Fraser from a life sentence with the social-climbing Queen of Preen, Mel and Fran rally their eccentric crew of friends around them to help stop Fraser and Amanda from tying the knot with a rope that all but Fraser can see is a noose. Loaded with spot-on observations, razor-sharp wit, and entertaining characters who engage in hilariously memorable antics, this is a riotously funny story of love, life...and the fine art of sabotage.

I got this in the mail today and am looking forward to reading what kind of trouble the other Melanie's of the world are getting into. Thank you!
I loved this book. It was a nice light three day read. It was typical chick lit although I was suprised by the ending. I also feel bad for poor Melanie for having such loser friends but she still ended up with a happy ending and I was happy to have read this book. I hope others enjoy it!
Received in mail today from MandMsmom. I'll journal again when read.
An amusing chick-lit, not the best I've ever read but by far not the worst. The main character is Melanie (Mel), complete with a job she dislikes, minimal self-confidence, a mouthy friend Fran, a boyfriend who ran off to America without so much as a note, and a snotty, pretentious old friend, Amanda. Their adventures on the way to Amanda's wedding to an old friend and crush of Mel's are a fun ride.
arugh48187 is next and is out of the country for the rest of the month (2/2004). I've emailed her to see if she wants it mailed on or if she wants to be skipped.

Finally in mail to arugh48187. Sorry for the delay!
This lovely gem showed up in my mail box along with (GULP!) five other bookrays. I guess I know what I'll be doing for the next few weeks....;)
This one was a rather quick read. I polished it off in only one day. It was quite light and refreshing and just what I needed to break up the heavy reading I have been doing of late. I wasn't a big fan of all the animosity directed at Amanda, but I suppose that it was required for the story. I wasn't a fan of "Talking to Addison" written by this same author and liked "Amanda's Wedding" better.
Mailing this one out as soon as I have an address.

I received this in the mail and forgot to journal it before leaving for vacation... sorry to hold onto it. I am looking forward to reading this book and promise to send it on soon!
I enjoyed reading this- it was a quick read and rather light for chick lit which was just what I was hoping for! A light summer read is always welcome this time of year. It was refreshing to read something funny and not too terribly deep!
Thanks for sharing this book as a ring. I've PM'd the next in line and will get it sent once I receive an address.

Received in the mail along with another book ray. Will post again once I start reading.
I am going to pass this on to the next person. I can't get into this book. Hope the next person likes it better than I did. (I notice so far I'm the only one who didn't like it).
