I'm making a start on this one tonight. Am in the mood for reading multiple books - so have chosen a mystery, a romance and one dubbed "general fiction". Shall report back later.
I'm going to do something a little different here - make a daily entry. My sig file on my email has a passage from my current read. This changes daily, usually first thing in the morning. I thought it would be nice for you to see these quotes, too.
Why these particular passages? I look at the spot where I stopped when we turned out the light, hubby reads too, and see if anything is worthwhile sharing. Sometimes it's cliche but when it is, I often suspend my preconceptions and look at it as if seeing it for the first time. Often the imagery is sharp. Anyhow enough babbling. …
From last night:
"It's not just that," she said, snapping her cards shut irritably. "It's because for the past two hours you've been twitching around this house like a fly in a glue pot." p66

The morning parlor had always been Molly's favorite room at Everspring. Floor-to-ceiling windows took up most of three walls, and by 11.00 a.m. on a clear day the sun came pouring in like honey. It caught on the gold-toned fabrics, the gilt picture frames, the bronze vases full of yellow roses, until the whole place seemed alive with light. p185
[my comments: aaah, give me a sunroom anyday. It makes me sing]

Well, I'm going to pick a bed&breakfast from www.bedandbreakfast.com, write a wee note, and send them the book for their guests. This one will be going to a place in Sth Carolina.
