Started this while cruising the carribean, finished it this morning. What a fun read it was! I love Brandner's style. Not too heavy, not too terribly light, just in the middle and when you pick up one of his books you're in for a quick fun ride. Not only was it a great story, but Lovecraftian as well, which I always have a soft spot for. Will see if I can generate ring interest on this one soon.

Very quick read. Not usually my genre, but it was short and held my interest. One of those one sitting reads. Passing it on to BooksnBeer.

Received this on May 20, 2004. I am just now getting a minute to log this in. I have one bookring in front of this, but I promise to read as soon as possible. It's a thin book, doesn't look like it will take long.
Quick, short read. A little too short? The story had some holes. I think I missed how he got back into this world the second time. Also, I would have killed the kid - he was suppose to be really evil. Sorry - I won't recommend this one.
Astragoth is now on his way to Texas. I put this in the mail this afternoon.
I'm not sure what to make of this book. My first impression (first 50 pages) was that this was going to be a great book. Lots of details and a great set up. But somewhere along the way I felt cheated. Like the author didn't take enough time to go where he wanted to go. A few places could have been fleshed out more..and I was a bit dissappointed with the ending. But a very quick read that kept my attention. I just wish the author had spent more time on it (another couple of hundred pages of this kind of writing would have been great!)

I just finished this. I have to admit that Astrogoth just wasn't that frightening as far as evil demons go. Also, I think I would call Protective Services on Diana and her husband--poor Matt needed better parents! ;-) Anyway, this was a quick, breezy read, and I'm glad I got the chance to read another of Brandner's works.
I'll contact aset01 and send this one on its merry way across the pond!

Not a very original story but the book is very well written. I'm curious to read his other books.
