4 out of 10

Not happy with this book. I felt that there were a lot of loose ends never tied up. What was Nick's plan? Why were these women so important and able to thwart Nick's plan? What the heck did the aliens have to do with anything? I almost gave up reading halfway through, but Tiffany's story was interesting, so I kept reading. I shouldn't have. Why did the author never resolve anything? And what was the point of this book?

Also, in the future societies, the language changed, which is very accurate and all; however, I got distracted every time that I saw dint (didn't) and dunt (don't). I had to stop and remember what they meant.

Okay, I have NO IDEA how long this book's been in my house. I noticed it today while digging for something else on Mt. TBR and I thought, "Shouldn't I have read you already, little book?"

Given that it was released THREE YEARS AGO, I'd say the answer is an unqualified YES.

I'll get on it.

Karen, you said everything for me. If you ignore Nick, you have some very interesting dystopic visions here that seem more plausible today than they might have even three years ago! But the string that ties the book together is missing. And I TOTALLY don't get the rabbi's statement at the end, although maybe a closer reading would have fixed that problem.

Well, nothing ventured, nothing gained.
