I have only recently been introduced to this author. Horror/science fiction is not a genre I usually read, but I was very impressed with the movie Coraline, scared the pants of me and I decided to search out the author. Came across this book first and I probably should have started with something a little less gruesome. I had some difficulty keeping track of all the characters and was put off a bit by the violence, which I do not think he writes particuliarly well. the storyline, which I thought was actually pretty good, was too obscured by all the gore. I'm not giving up though, I am still gonna at least read Coraline.
