"In many ways this book is one of the clearest introductions to the culture, life-style and ways of thinking of the Japanese ever published" says the cover of the 5 th printing in 1983.
Secret Angel hopes this will amuse Salvami in Ireland. Merry X-mas!
Thank you and happy Christmas!
I wonder whether I was too Japanese to enjoy this book...
Although photos used for the book seem outdated, it's a good book covers many subjects with useful information.
I hope the next reader will enjoy more than I did :)

Much to my shame I must admit, that although I read the book one time already, I did not journal that.
When trying to get more books in the bookcase, I found it again and decided that it is high time this book finds (a) new reader(s).
Not before writing a short review, however.
I liked this book. Although the photographs are outdated, for me the book gives lots of information on a people and culture that are completely foreign to me, but so very interesting.
I keep wondering, hoe much of the old (women other then geishas in kimono, new year's cleaning, almost naked yakuzas and road workers in the streets, of keeping strict balance in what you owe and what you receive) is still present in every day life.
I hope to be able to visit Japan one day, to see it all with my own eyes.
Thank you very nuch for sharing this book. I think I may have found someone who might appreciate it too.
