Journal Entry 1 by goodthinkingmax from Sydney, New South Wales Australia on Tuesday, September 14, 2010
Bought for the Miles Franklin challenge (see tqd's bookshelf) I am still deciding whether to plunge straight into this or to read The Broken Shore first (the prequel). This book was the winner of the Miles Franklin award for 2010 which surprised many since it's a crime novel.

Halfway through this book and loving it. I'm having some trouble with the abbreviated conversations and jargon, but I assume that more avid readers of crime would have an easier time. The politics and the shock jocks are so believable that I nervously have to assume that the crime is believable too.

Thumping good hardboiled crime set in present-day Melbourne. Really enjoyed it, thanks!

Crasy is reading this. I promise to hassle him, violently, if he takes more than a week or so. I hope you don't mind...
