ON THE BOOKSHELF

I enjoyed reading this, although was torn between the written qualities of the characters. 'Maggie' is a gem, her character so astutely captured as one descending further and further into madness, though at times, it needn't have been so obvious and the show don't tell maxim could have been applied a bit more.The other characters, though integral to the plot, were pale in comparison.Nevertheless, this is a good read.You can feel the heat of Cuba, the storyline is set a pace that lets you linger over the details without losing the plot.Go read!
