I liked this book a lot. The story about the two women, very different in background and age, sharing the interest in fossiles (curies) and finding many of them, even several large specimens that create a lot of roar.

I think it is the combination of historical background (information about how the people lived in these days, early 19th century), the story of the two strong female characters and their families, the fight they have with the rules of a mainly male society, the information about the fossiles that made his book so very interesting for me.
I liked it, though, because of the way Mary and Elizabeth came to live. It was like I walked next to them, sharing their lives and ecperiencing what was going on in their lives. That's what I like about books, when they let me go across borders in time and space and make me feel like I am there where the book's characters are.

I would never have given it a second thought, had I not read another book by this writer that I also liked a lot. This one did not disappoint me either.
I think there's another one on my TBR-shelf and I doubt it'll be unread by the end of the year
