Ok, I have to admit, being almost as obsessive about my garden as I am about my books, this title alone drew me to it. (the wonderful photo on the cover helped!)

Only a true gardener and foodie knows the perfection of a Brandywine tomato (or an Ox Heart, a Cherokee Purple ect). Will Alexander tries as he can to have the perfect garden, starting from scratch with book sense but little hands on experience. I laughed until I had tears in my eyes at some of his escapades, and could really relate to them on more than one note. Although I have never been blessed with SuperChuck I do have a few nearly tailess squirrels who try their best to help themselves to my heirloom tomatoes.

Part gardening, part foodie, altogether humerous Alexander is an ejoyable read. One may just start calculating how much money actually goes into their own garden, but the dollars are priceless to whose of us who truely love the sport of it all (and a great tomato!)

Am putting in the "Food Glorious Food" bookbox.

A surprisingly entertaining tale of a man and his garden! I maintain a small backyard veggie garden, but no where near the scale of Bill's. This is a hilarious look at a man trying to commune with nature and being thwarted turn after turn. His own ability to laugh at himself makes this book a great read rather than a big pity party.

I'm sending this one along to therubycanary via her mom as she is traipsing around the globe these days. :)

I'm really looking forward to reading this one. I have an obnoxious pile of books at my mom's house though!
