We've been upgrading our paperback copies of this series by picking up used hardcover copies, and as a result this copy is now looking for a new home.
While it's apparently an urban legend that a certain ex-vice-presidential candidate tried to ban this book, it seems that *was* banned from a bestseller list, which seems beyond weird to me.
The whole series made it to the top of the ALA'sl list of most banned/challenged books of 2000-2009; never mind that it was also one of the biggest sellers during that time. I love this list of reasons why this book has been challenged: someone thought the book should be restricted because it was "scary". Wow. So *that's* why they try to ban Stephen King?! :p
