This is a Mulliner collection. A private detective who can make the guilty confess simply by smiling at them. An artist so intimidated by his morally impeccable cat that he feels compelled to wear formal attire at dinner. A devotee of Proust whose life is turned upside down when he inadvertently subscribes to a correspondence course on How to Acquire Complete Self-Confidence and an Iron Will. These are just a few of the many members of the eccentric Mulliner clan whose lives and exploits are laid before the regulars of the Angler's Rest by that doyen of raconteurs, Mr Mulliner, in a series of tall stories where lunacy and comic exuberance reign supreme.

A hardback edition with a plain red cover (book originally from 1933, this is a third printing).

Just had a glimps of the book, very nice old edition BUT unfortunatelly and unforgivably somebody has tried to translate all the difficult words (and there were plenty of those) in Finnish + half of the text was underlined - in the first five pages. Perhaps then the reader had realized that you can't translate Wodehouse word by word and gave up.
Will read this in near future.

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:

Via Hippolein to Soozreader. I got another copy of this book from a friend, so I'm giving this to a great friend of Wodehouse. I still owe her "The Mating Season" which I can't find at the moment (in the middle of the night and will see Hippolein in nine hours time...). Things (read: books) are getting out of hand in this flat! Perhaps Mr Mulliner will keep Soozreader from pressing charges as of yet. Enjoy!
