This is yet another book that has been sitting on my TBR bookshelf for way too long. I am going to be starting another travel narrative bookbox in the near future and thought it would be perfect to add to it.

This was interesting and the photos were amazing. I wish it was a little more travel narrative and less travel diary. Each day was interesting. I think because so much was crammed in, it probably wouldn't have worked another way.

I'm claiming this from the Travel Narrative bookbox - I love Michael Palin! I've seen some of the 2007 mini-series, and it was interesting to read the longer entries here. (I admit that it's more fun for me hearing Palin talk about his adventures than it is reading about them.) The idea of exploring the part of Europe that had been behind the Iron Curtain for so long - and was now going through a lot of boundary-shuffling and other upheavals - made for a fascinating journey!
