With the bookshop where she works about to close, hopeless romantic Laura Horsley, in a moment of uncharacteristic recklessness, finds herself agreeing to help organise a literary festival deep in the heart of the English countryside. But her initial excitement is rapidly followed by a mounting sense of panic when reality sinks in and she realises just how much work is involved - especially when an innocent mistake leads the festival committee to mistakenly believe that Laura is a personal friend of the author at the top of their wish-list. Laura might have been secretly infatuated with the infamous Dermot Flynn ever since she studied him at university, but travelling to Ireland to persuade the notorious recluse to come out of hiding is another matter. Determined to rise to the challenge she sets off to meet her literary hero. But all too soon she's confronted with more than she bargained for - Dermot the man is maddening, temperamental and up to his ears in a nasty case of writer's block. But he's also infuriatingly attractive - and, apparently, out to add Laura to his list of conquests... (from amazon.co.uk)

Having previously read Artistic licence by the same author, I was a bit disappointed in this book, being a bit too predictable, but I guess it's still an easy entertainting read.

Sorry that it took me 1 year to read this....I really enjoyed the book, I loved the story around the literature festival and the development of Laura from a blue-stocking to a young, self-confident women who is even teasing the big, famous author ;-) - a lovely story and I really could imagine the small Irish cottage and the raveshing, drunken ? author.

During the Edinburgh Festival 2010 I wild released 50 books around various venues to 'celebrate' my birthday. I got 9 'catches' which I thought was pretty good going.

It proved to be quite addictive, so for the 6th year in a row I thought I'd do it again. Collecting 50 books to release is quite a challenge, so not all the books are ones that I've read, if they are then my journal entry will be somewhere above.

Expect releases to take place between 1st August 2015 and 1st September 2015.

Thank you for picking up this book. I hope you enjoy reading it & look forward to reading your journal entry & those that follow. You don't have to join to journal (you can do that anonymously) but it's free, so if you're a bookworm that likes to pass on books, why not join in.

I will try & update these release notes with the actual details ASAP after release and will tweet their location as I go (@cassandra2020)

Released as part of my annual challenge to release 50 books during the Edinburgh Festival - if you've picked this book up I hope you enjoy it!

'Caught' this book in Charlotte Square - was there with a friend for the Fringe. It came with me all the way on a 14 hour coach journey from Aberdeen to London. I have now finished it, and my mum's reading it before I pass it on to the friend who found it with me.
Enjoyed it, although found it very similar to another of her books in the storyline. Still, perfect for a long coach journey!
