Lover Unbound (Black Dagger Brotherhood, Book 5)
6 journalers for this copy...
In Caldwell, New York, war rages between vampires and their slayers. There exists a secret band of brothers - six vampire warriors, defenders of their race. Now the cold heart of a cunning predator will be warmed against its will ...
Vishous is another brother with an ugly childhood and bad problems. Jane is a really tough lady and her soliloquies to understand what happened to her were funny. Nice story, good to read.
Also good is the development of John. I liked it, but I’m irritated about Bellas processing: “Wasn’t there a scene (the boys dream) at the end of Bella and Zadist’s story, that Bella visited Zadist in the classroom with a young in her arms?” I had great problems with the thinking and acting of the scribe virgin. There isn’t any logic and she is not that strong person that she should be (from my point of view).
OK, I know that these sorts of stories always need an ending like: “Together for evermore.”, but this end is more than ridiculous. I was stunned, upset and annoyed; I hope the couple won’t be mentioned to often in the following books.

Arrived this afernoon. Thanks again for sharing, LadyAmalie!
2011-04-24: Liked this book much more than the previous one. It wasn't so much focused on just one couple, lots of stuff was going on in parallel.
Also the Lessers were thrown in only from time to time. No complete chapter wasted on them. Honestly, with all that stupid, bonded-male actions the brotherhood is very well capable to extinct themselves. ;)
So, the eight stars are only valid until page around 450. The end is ridiculous. I could live with some drama, but not this constructed wraparound. Don't want to spoil something but do we get zombies as well? *grrr*
I'm looking forward to the next installment as I like P. But I'm afraid I will not like where Mrs. Ward is taking him. We'll see...

Freed from the Packstation today.
Thanks for sending :-)
Nice colour! ^^
I'm afraid the book will have to wait a bit though, because another bookring arrived today and I think I'll read that one first, because it's kind of "new" and so other readers will have the chance to read it quite soon too.
Thanks for sending :-)

Nice read - as usual :-)
I find Ward's style of writing quite "comfortable".
As for contents:
I liked Jane&Vishous' story, especially Jane's character and I haven't got anything against the ending. ;-)
I agree that the Lessers weren't missed that much. It was nice to not read so much about them for a change.
Yeah and well, I actually find myself starting to not like John. Anyway, let's wait and see... ;-)

This may be my favorite so far. I think that is mainly due to the fact that the Lessers were far less present in this and I tend to enjoy the scenes involving them less... (more or LESS?)
The resolution with Jane is a bit weird, however. (as opposed to all the rest?) Can't wait for the next to arrive in my mailbox.
Meanwhile I've written to confirm the next address.

Finally found a moment to do the parcel and get this to the post - thanks so much for making this series available! This one is now on its way to the Netherlands.
Picked this up at the neighbours today (it's too fat to fit through the mailbox :p). This series is getting rather addicting.. Looking forward to read Vishous' story. Thanks again for sending the book (and the postcard ^_^) penelopewanders! And LadyAmalie for sharing them :)

I really liked this one. Especially as there is more about the different characters and you get to know them better. And I didn't miss the lessers at all actually.. the Brothers are already busy enough with all the drama around them :p
Vishous and Jane are very sweet together, but the ending/solution was kind of strange..
Mailed the book to Esme-Weatherwax today. Happy reading!

I look forward to reading this one, although it may be a few weeks before I can since the book arrived after my little one did.
hum I did not like this books as much as the other ones ( besides book one). I think the issue was the romantic story line is getting very repetitive. As in the male has a haunted past and due to that is self destructive until he meets his love. The only bits I really enjoyed was the parts with John and his pals. As Lady Amelie pointed out about Bella and the end of Zadist's story that Bella had the young in her arms. Now there are issues with the young. I unlike the other readers actually like the bits with the lessers for I think they make the story flow. I am really beginning not to the like the Scribe Virgin. I do agree the ending was well contrived, it seems like Ward is running out of ideas of how to have drama and have the couple end up together.
Note: Jonniboi whats me to hold off sending vols 4 and 5 to him for he has a load of rays right now.
