Reserving for k00kaburra's Dragon bookbox
I'm taking this from k00kaburra's Dragon bookbox. Dragons in the Arctic? Could be fun!
Later: Even though this is the second book in the series and I haven't read the first one, I was able to pick up the plot pretty quickly. It's a very lively book, lots going on, some of it funny and some quite dark. [The bit with the dragon's ears really got to me...] The man character, David, is a student who's rooming with a woman who makes clay dragons - which come alive, and which have a variety of different powers, though David seems to be doubting them again in this book despite his experiences from the previous one. he finds himself having to room with a crusty neighbor when he winds up at odds with visiting Aunt Gwyneth, who proves to be very unpleasant indeed.
And we haven't even gotten to the polar bears, yet, or the history-of-dragons, creation myths, ancestral powers, pregnancy-via-magical-clay-egg... Very lively story!
[There's a TV Tropes page for the series, which I found quite interesting - though it does include spoilers, most masked but some not. I don't mind learning about possible future sources of angst in a series - it warns me to lay in a supply of tissues {wry grin} - but if you prefer to be surprised, leave the link 'til you've finished the series!]

I left this book, bagged against the weather, on a boulder near the end of Swan Lake, at about 3:30. Hope the finder enjoys it!
