It's been quite a while since I read this book, so just a few words. It's one of those semi-scientific thrillers, in this case centering around human cloning. Without getting into detail, I remember that the science is really stretched in the book, and the plotline is a little simplistic. Easy reading, but a little frustrating as well.

I'll send it to mafarrimond as part of my drive to clear out books before moving house.

An amazing story. Genetic engineering in thriller form! Easy to read - techinical and scientific information was not too difficult to follow. Tension was kept strong throughout.

I believe that there is a film of the book, I will look out for it.

Travelling the world for Wales!

Journal Entry 6 by bloedengel at Turnhout, Antwerpen / Anvers Belgium on Monday, March 21, 2011
It is an absolute pageturner, I peeked into it and read all my way through till the 102nd page.
I can already tell I love it .

And the gifts from Wales were just ... too much.
My son took the cards, my daughter ran of with the keyhanger, so I chose the pen and the carpet. Thanks so very much, now I'm even more tempted to visit Wales :-)

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:

This book really surprised me ! The author was not one I'd have picked out myself and the cover was not one that would attract me towards reading it, yet it was very very good.
It was even a quick read, which I hadn't expected. It's hardly a 'little' book, after all, is it ?
There were passages in the book where I thought I saw events coming / evolving, but I was quite often surprised.
I liked the main character, though she was sometimes a bit larger than life, I guess.
And I also liked the plot, in between technology, science and fantasy :)
I'd certainly recommend this specific book to others.
I think I might even read something by Follet in the future again.
I'm now sending this to Lizzyblack who is the next virtual England-Wales-traveller.
Enjoy your trip !

I just found time to reigster for bookcrossing now, as I am in my final semester at Uni and currently super busy. The whole idea of bookcrossing is amazing and I really can't wait to read my first book passed on this way to me!
Seems like the book got lost somewhere in Berlin for a while, as the last entry was quite a while ago! I received it maybe 2 months ago at work. THis was at the Holocaust memorial in Berlin ( quite an usual drop-off place if you ask me) and I decided to take it home and have a read after it was among our daily lost property items... =)

Finally I found some time to read the book and must say I really enjoyed it! Also for me, this isn't a book I would have chosen myself, but nevertheless it was totally worth it and boy does it read through quickly, too!
I guess the plot is a bit too outdated to be really enthralling, but the story telling makes up for it, I guess. I'd recommend reading the book, especially for a non-native speaker it offers a good level of easy-to-understand english, but still with some novel more exceptional vocabulary to learn.
