Non-fiction Book Box

The normal rules apply:
1. This is a non-fiction book box so biographies, humor, political discussion, science, history, anything non-fiction, are all fair game. The only limitation is it should be primarily text – no coffee table books or collections of photos/art.
2. Please journal the box when you get it and again when you send it on. A confirmation is helpful, but not required. Don't keep the box longer than 2 weeks and replace the box, if it needs it.
3. Journal the books you take out and put in. Contribute as many books as you take. but, please, no dumping--add the kind of books you'd like to receive.
4. Please check for changes to the list on the box journal before sending it on. There may be some adds or deletions along the way.

The initial books in the box:

Barrel Fever by David Sedaris
Bushworld by Maureen Dowd
Dancing on the Edge of the World by Ursula K. Le Guin

I am so glad box is here already! I love non fic over fiction, and there are just not many of them in BC, so I am overjoyed about this box!
I have browsed through the box and picked some potentials, when I have some time I will finalize the selection and send it on.

Journal Entry 11 by wingAzukiwing at Miami, Florida USA on Tuesday, September 7, 2010
Sorry... the day after I got the books, I made my selection, journaled the books I want, and figured I will register/release my books the next day. And for some reason that turned into two weeks...

Thankfully it's a long weekend, so I got time to finally get everything journaled and ready. It'll go out the next day or two.

    I'm taking out:
    House of Houses
    One Dharma
    The Empire of Tea
Expats: Travels in Arabia, from Tripoli to Teheran
    Losing My Mind

    Putting in:
    Maxed Out
    My First 100 Marathons
    Longtitude
    Whose Life?
    Genome

I really love this bookbox. I hope it can be a continuous box that will go on round after round. Thanks so much for organizing this, MarysGirl!

I added a lot of extras to this box. Feel
free to take out a few more books than
you put back in. The box cost about $11.00
to mail when i received it, but I imagine it
will be several dollars more when I mail it off today!

Hi! It's here!!! This box was soooooo heavy, I practically had to drag it up the stairs!! I may take debances advice and take a few extras out...the box is too big for the books, but I only have one that's too small. I hope I can find a happy medium. Thanks! :)

Arrived here safely this afternoon. Lots of good, though-provoking books here - I love it! I should be able to get the box underway by this weekend. The box is extremely heavy right now, and I may follow the example of some others and try to lighten it a bit to spare further readers' backs.

This box arrived home several weeks ago around the holidays and got lost in the all the boxes of holiday stuff. I cleaned my office this weekend and realized I had not yet let everyone know it had returned safely.

Thanks to all who participated. You made this a very successful box. My apologies that the mailing costs went up as it got heavier. I'll try to make sure that doesn't happen next time. I'll be journalling the books over the next couple of days.

Are you sure you want to delete this item? It cannot be undone.
