CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:

sent to Alexis Bosley of Ladera Ranch, CA to fulfill a request on Paperbackswap.com!

Journal Entry 3 by kayote at Urbana, Illinois USA on Tuesday, June 26, 2018
I requested this from an Alexis on paperbackswap.com in 2011, so it didn't have too long of a journey from k00kaburra to me, but I didn't notice it was a bookcrossing book (the others I requested weren't).

I had read the first couple books and enjoyed them, so was trying to put the series together (over the course of several years). Decided it was time to just read what I had and see if I still wanted to gather them all (also figure out how many there were).

I have about a third of the series. The overarching story became more interesting as it went along. The lead female character stayed irritatingly written (but less screen time). I am both fascinated by the creative example and tired of the Uber Powerful With Quirk, but that structure is entirely expected in this type of series so I can't complain too much...but I think they could have cut about half of them out on either side and the story wouldn't have suffered much.

Since none of the libraries around here have them, I decided I wasn't going to find the other 2/3rds of the books. I enjoyed what I read (and I admit to looking up how it ended online, because I did want to know what was going on) and now it's time for this to continue on its journey. I need the shelf space back.

I am putting a new BX note in it, as the ink ran under the tape so it's hard to read.

Enjoy! The art is decent, the characters have interesting & intertwined backstories, and the fights don't get drug out too much. Fun series!

This is the only BX book amongst the the ones I have. Someone wants to buy the rest from me, so I'm including this one as a bonus along with the rest. Enjoy!
