This book was passed on to me by a BookCrossing Support Team member who received it from the author. She knew I had expressed an interest in the forum, when the author did a mass release in London earlier this month. Great title. I'll try and do a book ring for it.

Per BCSupportTeam, this message was included in correspondence with the author:

Long story but I was broke when I wrote the book you know, really out of work and I lost my house and had to clear the debits. I was financially ruined. I now live in a 11 bedroomed manor house in kent with tennis courts and pool... no I am not boasting at all. I am saying that I asked God to win the lottery and I didn't. But I learned about the spiritual side of how and why money comes and goes. Anyway there is hope for us all ... I am giving away thousands of copies of my book for free as its a gift - it was a pleasure to write it and gives me pleasure to know that people will read it. Karma, what you give - you receive, just takes time.

Oh the book is a signed copy so when I am famous......... yes was a joke... but there is something about the American people that I love and its the fact that you embrace all things new and that can change the world for the better.

Sending this out today to start the journey. Please follow the list posted in the second entry and pass it along within a month or so. Please journal that it has arrived and when it's headed out (and anything in between that suits you.)

And if you win the Lottery, let us know!

Thanks. And thanks again to BCSupport and the Author for passing this on.

Not sure why, but I expected this to be fiction when it first was given to me. I had just read a whole slew of biographies/memoirs, and while this one did have the advantage of the author growing to reshape his life and discover a more altruistic way of approaching things, the writing wasn't as sharp as some of the others I had read. I'll need to give it a re-read, if I can stand it, when it returns home to me. it's currently out on a BookRing.

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:

Being sent via post to the next member (Mysscyn) in the book ring. An interesting read because the man discusses letting one's passion, and by extension, love rule one's life rather than just money. It is his unedited diary of what he discovered over the course of seven years.

Thanks for sharing the book via this book ring...I appreciated it (although I thought to begin with that it might be fiction, too).

zzzzzz
I thought it was because I was sick but it's not. This is a very boring, whine filled book with a great title.
Sending it on to Ravencat in Lanc. Ny (which I miss greatly.)
Thanks for including me.

Journal Entry 8 by ravencat at Lancaster, New York USA on Saturday, December 4, 2010
Arrived today from MyssCyn.

I just wanted to update the status of this book as it arrived the same day I slipped and fell on ice striking my head and resulting in a bad concussion. It was difficult for me to read for an extended period of time but I have been plugging along little by little and have about 100 pages left until I'm finished. I already have the next person on the list address so as soon as I finish it will be on its way. From what I have read and try to have my brain retain the info I am enjoying it so far.Thank-you for being patient with me.

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:

OK I will be honest and say that I did pray to God every day to win the lottery. Who doesn't wish that they would win big? But after the past few weeks with me dealing with this bad concussion I got from falling on ice and hitting my head pretty good along with my shoulder and neck, I just want to be healthy and back to normal and that for me is better than winning any lottery. All in all, I did enjoy this book even though the author was always whining about his problems and I am glad he came to terms with himself in the end. Now off to JudySlump612. And thank-you bookczuk for offering this book to read.

I kept picking this up, and then abandoning it. I'm with MissCyn: boring and whine-filled. I'll go on and add repetitive and unstructured - evidence, I suppose that this is really a bona-fide diary. But definitely a NMCOT - Not My Cup Of Tea.

One man's voyage of discovery to realise that not all important things in life are money related.

Quite hard going and very self-analytical.

It is just my opinion.., but I thought it's like a broken record. Nothing much happens in the story(well, this is a salesman's diary..which I didn't expect at all), then you need to go through the same stuff (his feelings, excuses etc etc)again and again and again...I read 110 pages or so, now I really have to give up. This is too boring to continue for me and I don't think I will regret even if something exciting happens later in this book.

Journal Entry 20 by wingbookczukwing at Charleston, South Carolina USA on Monday, July 25, 2011
The book was waiting for me when I returned home from a wonderful week in the mountains, where I spent some time at a series of lectures geared towards discovering/expanding your potential through meditation and relaxation. I'd thought I'd give the book a re-read, since I was unable to complete the book the first time. But the second attempt was no more successful. In fact, when I found frown lines growing on my forehead, and my feeling of peacefulness diminishing, I decided this book really is not something I want to continue reading. While I appreciate the author's quest to find himself, it's so far removed from my values, that it's hard to bear. I thought the title a funny one, but see this is really what this guy prays for. To hell with happiness, health and safety for you and your loved ones. Use your time in prayer to go for the gold, literally.

Will wild release this, and hope that the joy of finding a book counterbalances the writing of this particular one.

I was speaking to the owner of a great new place here in Charleston about BookCrossing. I told her I'd leave two books, one good (this one) and one awful, but well travelled (guess who?!) Either way, someone stopping by and grabbing a bite to eat or something from the shelves is sure to get something fabulous.
