I thought the book started off really strong. I felt a lot of sympathy for this child with Tourette's Syndrome in an era were it often went undiagnosed. Years ago I was going through my charts at work (I am a hygienist) and I saw I had a teen with Tourette"s Syndrome in my schedule. I was kind of nervous I didn't know how to deal with this particular condition. Turns out he was great, no tics or outbursts. At the end of the appointment he asked several questions about brushing and flossing. This is unheard of, teens never ask that and generally don't want to hear about it. I was so thrilled, hygienists live for this type of patient. I had such a positive experience with him. I thought about him a lot while reading the book.
