My favourite Dahl book by a long, long way. This copy has been in my hands for a very long time, but I look forward to reading it again from an adult point of view.
Such a brilliant story. Sophie is an orphan. One night she can't sleep and witnesses a huge figure prowling the streets. She is spotted and abducted, finding herself in a strange county and in the company of the Big Friendly Giant, or BFG. He spends his time mixing dreams and blowing them into children's bedrooms, eating Snozcombers and drinking Frobscottle. But there are other giants and they are not so nice. They travel the world at night and eat children. Together, Sophie and the BFG come up with a plan to put a stop to them, involving the Queen of England and lots of helicopters.
A funny book. I love the language of the BFG, the way his words get muddled and his logic is screwed. A lovey read, enjoyable even as an adult.

I was VERY pleasantly surprised and gobsmacked to recieve this book this morning. But it did not travel alone!!! Oh no! It is one of 10!!! Look out Dark-Draco. I'm going to attempt to get you back!
You can't beat a Roald Dahl book for a magical adventure into the weirdest of places with the most unusual of characters! This book was no exception! I love the relationships between little Sophie and the BFG. But most of all, I want to Whizzpop with them lol!
Posting out Finland as my side of a Bookswap! Safe travels lucky little book!
Thanks for the book and the cards! I love London and I miss it already, even though I was there in August. =) I love the way Roald Dahl writes. Last Christmas I was a bit depressed but reading poems from Dahl made me laugh and for that I am greatful.
Sorry it took me such a long time to read this! But I absolutely loved this, Dahl writes in such a unique way which always makes me smile. And the language really is beautiful in this one. I'm so glad I got to read this one. Thank you!
