Journal Entry 1 by Niora from Joensuu, Pohjois-Karjala Finland on Thursday, June 17, 2010
A paperback edition in good condition of this book from 1993. It has no back-cover caption as such, but according to the author biography on the front leaf, Dalrymple was born in Scotland, is an accomplished travel writer and lived in Delhi in 1989-1993 to research for this book. Oh, and there is a fairly cool inscription. (I found the book in the book-exchange shelf of the local public library, I have no idea who these people are.)

This arrived in the mail today, what a great surprise! I've been wanting to read this book for a long time and it will be a perfect book to read in preparation of my trip to India at the end of this year. :D Many thanks, Niora!

Journal Entry 4 by rapturina at Rotterdam, Zuid-Holland Netherlands on Sunday, January 30, 2011
I finished reading this quite a while ago, before I went on my trip to India (and I'm back now). It was an interesting read, especially as William Dalrymple describes so many different people, it gives you a glimpse of different parts of Indian society. As usual, some chapters are more interesting than others, but all in all a great read, especially if you'd like to find out more about India. :D
