Good Omens
8 journalers for this copy...
On a level with the immortal "Hitch-Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy". Fun fun fun 'til the Apocalypse takes the T-bird away!
Sending to cestmoi by mail. Enjoy!
I read this a few months ago as part of a bookring and enjoyed it so much I wanted to read it again to savour it - which isn't conducive to bookringing...so here's my chance. Thanks radar-bookie.
Just as funny the second time around. I love this book..I think its time to go buy one (eek..at full price even!) and keep it on my shelves for good.
The story is so witty and sarcastic but also wise, in a way.
This copy is off to softdrink for her first taste of Neil Gaiman and I'm sure it won't disappoint.
I'm looking forward to hearing how you like it.

This book arrived while I was on vacation...thanks, cestmoi, for sending it to me. I will read it soon.
This book was my introduction to both Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett. It was hilarious...both funny and sarcastic, which is just the type of humor I like! And clever...I especially liked their use of footnotes. One of my favorite scenes is the 4 Horsemen of the Apocalypse on Harleys. I was trying to describe it to my boyfriend (who owns a Harley or two), but he wasn't as amused as I was. I guess you had to have been there. :-)
Anyways, thanks to cestmoi, I'm now hooked. I've already bought another Gaiman book, and cestmoi is feeding the addiction by sending me a Pratchett novel. Just what I need...more books. LOL.
Thanks (I think), cestmoi...you're the best!

I am sending this book off to Atenea-Nike in Spain...enjoy!
I am already a Pratchett addict, and it now seems that thanks to softdrink I'll become a Gaiman (hitherto unknown to me) one. I'm very thankful for your generosity, softdrink. I'm sure I'll enjoy this book and the other one you sent me (Carpe Jugulum). Thanks a bunch!
Oh, so good!!! I laughed and laughed and then laughed some more. Mix Pratchett's magic and sense of humour (which makes me think of Tom Sharpe on LSD) with a foursome of kids like Richmal Crompton's William and the Prosecuted (dunno the name in english for the gang, I'm guessing here. Those books provided some of the best hours in my childhood, and I still enjoy them immensely) and Gailman's undercurrent of darkness and you'll have a greta, great book.
Thanks a lot to every bookcrosser that contributed to put this one in my path!
I've enjoyed it so much that I think I'll bookring it :)

I know now that Atenea, besides being the goddess of knowledge, arts, war and several other things, is a goddess of generosity: I asked her for this book so that I may discover whether Pratchett is as good as they tell me, and she sent not one but two books! Thank you very much!
Well, now I know: I’ll have to try some other Pratchett because this one was definitely very good. From the cast of characters (including the Apocalyptic horsepersons), to the burning of Agnes the witch, down to the vertiginous last hundred pages, and the anticlimatic appearance of the father of the Antichrist (“-Where’s that boy got to? Come back here this instant!. But he seldom did what his father wanted”). I enjoyed even the footnotes (The Metatron is “the Voice of God. But not the voice of God. An entity in its own right. Rather like a Presidential spokesman”).
A very, very funny book. Why have British authors been always so good at humour?. No wonder the novel is dedicated to Chesterton…
Thanks, Atenea and all those who read it before and passed it on.
Sent by mail to Brujula on June 1st.

Received today from WAM.
I'll start reading it as soon as I finish one of the three books I'm reading now! (all easy reading...and very different styles!)
Gracias WAM! Y gracias a Atenea también!

I've really enjoyed this book. It's funny, witty, full of weird references... and it manages to slip a couple of more serious messages in. It reminds me of the humour of the Monty Python, somehow.
I've mailed it to gerenggat today.
Thank you Atenea-Nike, for letting me discover this book!

Absolutely loved it :-) The only downside is that I now have to go and find more books by Neil Gaiman (I already am a Pratchett addict) ;-)

Now going to SallaH in Finland :-)
I received the book in the post in late August, but for some reason I forgot to write a journal entry until now. :P
I'm only halfway through the book, but I've laughed and I've cried, and I've laughed UNTIL I cried. ;) I'll tell you more once I've finished it...

I finished the book. Loved it, although it was a little obvious towards the end. Wildly funny, in any case. :)
I'm ready to pass the book on to the next person. However, I searched for the next two (Spanish) people on the list and couldn't find their profiles... Should I just send it straight to the next person on the list whom I can find?
(Just realising that the journal notes are not exactly an example of two-way communication...) Unless the person who started the bookring advises me against it, this is what I'm going to do.
