The Tolkien Audio Collection
11 journalers for this copy...
A treat for Tolkien fans - excerpts from the works read by the Professor and his son Christopher. I ended up with two copies of this so I hope this one will find a good home.
Due to interest I have made this into a bookray. Hope everyone enjoys it!

Sent to fly46 to begin it's journey!
Haven't listened yet, but I will soon! For those of you on the list... I'll send this out in a week or so. (As soon as I can make myself a copy!)
Well, I'm pretty much done listening to this now, so it'll be on its way to the next person in the ray fairly soon. (I'm going to copy it first)
The first two discs were bad. I totally pictured Gollum to sound like he did, but it was really hard to understand because of the way that JRR Tolkien did the readings. They weren't sharp. Disc two was the little poems (the story of Tom Bombadill) and the songs from the Rings.... And they were read really fast and there wasn't much of a break between them, so they all kinda blended together and it was bad. I didn't enjoy them much at all.
Discs 3&4 however, were spoken by Christopher Tolkien instead, and those are much easier to understand because he reads them slower.
The whole set is kinda quiet, too.. I have to crank my volume up twice as much as I do to hear music when I listen to this set.
Anyway, on to Andy at the begining of next week.

Haven't been in here to make a note, but this was mailed to AndyCap14 a few days ago.
Recieved today!! Thanks
Can it get any better than this?
It's delightful to hear Tolkien reading his own stuff, putting inflections and emphasis where he wrote, and animating the various characters as he invysioned them.
I'll have to copy this to keep with my "Tolkien Shelf" - I'm already getting anxious to see the final part of the LOTR this holiday season and see how they package the complete works: "I see a Christmas Gift to me" here somewhere.
Pete - who seldom visits fantasy, but when he does has trouble coming back to reality....

I got this in the mail a week or so ago (sorry it's taken me so long to say so). I've listened to the first disc so far, and i am enthralled by it. All the songs and poems will sound right now when i reread them after having heard Tolkien himself read them.

oops. that "anonymous finder" is me. Somehow wasn't logged in. Right. So, i'll listen to this as fast as i can and then send it on.
Right. I greatly enjoyed the CD's. Am sorry i didn't enjoy them more quickly. I've sent them off to France and hope they will be well received.
The cds have safely made their journey all the way from Nebraska to the North of France where I'll make sure to send them shortly to Philodox. Thanks to you all, especially Deerskin for having initiated it and stogie10 for having been willing to send it all the way to France!
My apologies everyone ... time has flown by and I've neglected the swiftness whith which I had meant to pass this cd on to the next person. I am awfully sorry. I am sending it to philidox this very week, I promise.
This book has been on its way to Germany for a number of days now... it should be arriving soon.

received today!
I will start listening to it as fast as I can (hope, my English skills will make me able to understand everything)...and then write my report.
Thanx to deerskin and matindautomne, who paid sooo much for sending it to Germany (u could have bought it for that much money, I guess) and designed a lovely postbag!

sorry, I forgot to tell you that the book is on it´s way tio visit Portugal again.
It was great, to hear both Tolkiens themselves and I´m so happy that I understood a lot! (what dialect does the professor have? Espacially the "R" sounded kind of strange sometimes, doesn´t it?)
Thanks again, deerskin!

A different Tolkien experience after the books and the movies. Thanks Deerskin for this ring!!
PS: Sorry for the delay with the book entry. I contacted "leitora" in April, but didn't receive any reply from her, so I passed it on. It should be arriving in Barreiro in southern Portugal and reaching "vinyldoll".

Arrived this week.
It is great to ear pieces of Tolkien's fantasy story in the voice of Tolkien himself, and of Christopher, his son. The way he says the characters names, makes the listener feel that story amost real. A must have.
On the way to Brasil, to the hands of Tuz, since leitora can´t participate in the ray.
27th December
Sorry for the delay, but Tuz is passing this ring, so I'll send it tomorrow to the last of the list - Jaiyn.
