Picked up at tonight's meetup with the Wellington bookcrossers. Now this one *does* look like my sort of book!

What turns an ordinary person into a terrorist? Yasmina Khadra follows the path of a young Iraqi man from his quiet life in a sleepy village to suicide bomber in training, and on to his ultimate mission. Khadra skillfully evokes the fear and frustrations of life in an occupied country, and the cultural misunderstandings between West and East that can have such horrific consequences.

Not a happy book, by any stretch, but a fascinating one.

I really don't need more books to read but it looks like one that I would enjoy.

WILD RELEASE NOTES:

Was left on the book shelf after I gave the telephone box a bit of a tidy up. Isn't the best kept book exchange that I have seen.
