This is a collection of 30+ short stories meant to be told around a campfire, on long car rides, at slumber parties, etc. This is my second copy of this book, and it's going to krin511.

Hardcover, 223 pages

From the dust jacket:
There's a killer hiding in your bedroom!
The hitchhiker in your backseat
just disappeared!
A venomous snake lives in the lining
of your coat!

Urban legends like these are the stuff of nightmares. Bloody Mary and Other Tales for a Dark Night is a connoisseur's collection of thirty-five creepy contemporary tall tales. Drawing on our eeriest modern myths, Stefan Dziemianowicz crafts horror stories that will leave even skeptical readers listening for footsteps behind them and fearful of walking into darkened rooms.

If you have ever given second thought to a wild rumor or listened to incredible experiences reported about friends of friends, you'll find plenty here to unsettle your imagination. There are stories suitable for every occasion when the lights are low and supersititions high: the campfire, the Christmas fireside, the Halloween vigil, or the slumber party. They can be enjoyed by the solitary reader or told aloud in the safety of a circle of friends.

Did you hear the one about the special ingredient the traveler found in his bowl of stew? Read about it after dinner—but not before! How about the tale of the hook-handed killer who haunts the secret spots where lovers are likely to park their cars? We all know not to chant the name of Bloody Mary in front of a mirror on Halloween—but do you dare to find out why?

These stories are guaranteed to give you chills on a hot summer night and make your pulse pound feverishly in midwinter. So stash them with your sleeping bag, take them on the road, pull them out around the Christmas tree—and let Bloody Mary bring a bit of the dark side to your fireside.
