Paperback edition with 288 pages.

A friendly, fun, informative book dealing with those common complaints, PMS and period pain. Problem Periods also explains some of the more difficult and less talked about conditions including Fibroids, Dysfunctional uterine bleeding (DUB) and Polyscystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS).

Great read! Though I haven't read everything, just in I was interested. But the starting of the book was very interesting, having periods after 20 years, it reassured me, that my own period is 'normal', even if it is not 'textbook period'.

"A normal period is when a girl called Susan in a textbook has a period exactly every 28 days, for precisely five days, after which stops like a tap going off. And it is important to note that Susan continues to ride her pony, Fluffball, throughout the entire ordeal. If your anem is not Susan and you don't have a pony, your period is probably abnormal. ... 'Normal' is a strange word to use for periods, because the range of possibilities is so wide and there are so many exceptions to the rule that are just as 'normal'. ... Susan's is known as the 'textbook period', because it appears in every boring old textbook and if textbooks had periods it would be exactly like this: a mentsrual cycle is 28 days long with a period lasting 3 to 5 days. ... with 14 days long luteal phase and 14 days long follicular phase ... Needleass to say lots of us don't have this exact pattern. "
