Castle in the Air
6 journalers for this copy...
Far to the south of the Land of Ingary, a young carpet merchant called Abdullah lives in the city of Zanzib. He is a day-dreamer and in his dreams, he is really the long-lost son of a great prince. His dream is a complete castle in the air... or is it? Abdullah's day-dreams suddenly start to come true when he meets the exquisite Flower-in-the-Night, daughter of the ferocious Sultan of Zanzib.
Fate has destined them for each other but a bad-tempered genie, a hideous djinn, and various villanous bandits fling Abdullah on to a roller coaster of adventures.
A high spirited Arabian Nights fantasy, the dazzling sequel to Howl's Moving Castle.
A marvellous story building on the oriental fairy tales.
And the reader will meet Sophie and Howl again.

If you aren't familiar with Bookcrossing, take a few minutes to check out this very cool site. Bookcrossers LOVE books, and more than anything, they love to read books and then set them free for other people to find and enjoy. We would love it, if you would leave a journal entry -- you can say where you found the book or how you liked it when you read it.

Picked this up at the meeting as I quite like this author. I haven't read the first part of this trilogy so it will be interesting to see if I can pick up the storyline.
A fun and energetic retelling of many of the stories in One thousand and one nights.
This can be read as a stand alone book.
I really liked the cover art of this book, and the other two in the series.
Reserved to give as a RABCK to LittleSuz at the Nottingham UnConvention held in Sept 2011.

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:
This is going to littlesuz, as it appears on their wishlist and we shall both be at the Nottingham Uncovention 2011.
Thanks very much Kiwiinengland! I read the first one in this series years ago and was recently alerted to the fact there were more.
I really enjoyed this! It was fun and whimsical, just like Howl's Moving Castle. I hadn't been sure how you could do a 'sequel' to that, but this was cleverly plotted. Will be on my list of 'books to give to young nieces for Christmas' in the future!

Sounds interesting so picked up at Meet Up yesterday
Been quite a while since I read a fairy tale about magical carpets, djnns, princesses, sultans, wizards and such like and thoroughly enjoyed it. Well written , lovely witty remarks about this really strange country called Wales and I just loved the scenes with all the kidnapped princesses in the castle plotting their plan of escape.

Caught at the Old gang meet up. Thank you!
This was just the kind of magical escapism I was in need of! I liked that there were so many stories going on as side threads to the main tale. I've seen the anime film of Howl's Moving Castle but haven;t read it. That didn't really make a difference though, you can definitely read this as a stand alone book.
